There is probably no better view in the whole island…. from here you can explore not just Islay but also the neighbouring ones – Colonsay and Jura…. If you are interested in wild swimming – which we are – there is no better place than the view from the window. We swam in the sea right there…. All in all we had a great stay in a great place.”
Bruce Ramsay and family (Edinburgh) stayed at An Grianan 12 to 17 September 2016: “Great place, well equipped. Magic Location…. Beaches – Sanaigmore, Saligo, Machir – all great…. Kids had a ball. We will be back – a week not enough.”
Pete and Annie Doyle (Stoke on Trent) stayed at An Grianan 17 to 24 September 2016: “Just great to return to Islay. Lovely house in a perfect location to explore. Long, boggy walk up Glas Bheinn and Bheinn Bheiger but worth it for the spectacular views of Antrim, Arran, Jura, Rum, Colonsay, Mull and more. A Golden Eagle joined us … plus almost trod on an Adder! All the distilleries worth a visit…. Yan’s Kitchen was our best dinner – very relaxed and friendly service.”
Ineke and Brian Cargill (Arbroath) who stayed in An Grianan 1 to 8 October 2016: “We have had a wonderful week and your accommodation is superb. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. After arriving in the dark on Saturday night it was wonderful to look out on the wonderful view from the sun room. Even a school of dolphins had turned up at the end of the pier to welcome us.”

Port Charlotte and An Grianan have been perfect for us…. Not too remote, but with the amazing views and proximity to the coast / nature that Islay has to offer. … All in all we had a wonderful time made even more relaxing by the clean and comfortable accommodation that we returned to. It was clear that a lot of thought has gone into ensuring our stay was well catered for. We found the house well equipped and perfect for our needs! When can we come back!”

Susan, Jack, Kate and Gordon (18 to 21 May 2016) “What a find! Cannot believe how lucky we are to have found this beautiful ‘wee gem’ on Islay. Spotlessly clean, fabulous views, within walking distance to Bruichladdich Distillery and local hostelries. Had a great few days and never let the weather spoil our fun. Flora, your welcome pack was really appreciated (especially the chocolate cake). Whisky tasting was out of this world. Food in Yan’s was superb but the seafood platter and the steak and ale pie at the Lochindaal Hotel was exceptional. Looking forward to returning next year! Thank you Flora. Five star accommodation.”
